Accesibility
We Are Committed
Breetion knows that not all disabilities are visible, and we are committed to providing a website that is accessible to all users, regardless of their physical or cognitive abilities. We strive to comply with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at an AA level, which will allow people with disabilities to navigate, interact, and enjoy our website in the same way as users without disabilities.
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) are a set of guidelines designed to make web content more accessible to people with disabilities. These guidelines are developed by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) through the Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI).
Our Principles
-
1. Perceptible:
Information and user interface components should be presented to users in a way that they can perceive. This includes, for example, providing alternative text for images and using colour schemes that are distinguishable to people with colour blindness.
-
2. Operable:
The user interface and navigation components must be operable. This means that the interface must be usable by keyboard and provide sufficient time for users to read and use the content.
-
3. Understandable:
The information and operation of the user interface must be understandable. Content should be clear and consistent, and functionalities should be predictable.
-
4. Robust:
Content must be robust enough to be reliably interpreted by a wide variety of user agents, including assistive technologies. This implies, for example, the appropriate use of HTML and other web languages.
The WCAG
Are organised into three levels of conformance:
- Level A:The most basic level of accessibility. If this level is not met, it is difficult for people with disabilities to access content.
- Level AA:This level addresses the most common barriers to access and is the most common target level for websites.
- Level AAA:The highest level of accessibility, which is not always possible to achieve for all types of content.
These standards are crucial to ensure that the web is accessible to all people, regardless of their physical or cognitive abilities.
Our Steps to Improve:
- WCAG standards: Our website is designed and developed to meet WCAG 2.1 standards at AA level.
- Keyboard accessible: The website can be fully navigated using only the keyboard.
- Compatibility with screen readers: The website is compatible with popular screen readers to ensure accessibility for visually impaired users.
- Appropriate colour contrast: Appropriate colour contrast is used for text and graphic elements to improve readability for all users.
- Text alternatives: Descriptive text alternatives are provided for all images and graphical elements to enable users with screen readers to understand their content.
- Zoom: The website can be enlarged by up to 200% without losing information or functionality.
- Plain language: We use simple, straightforward language that is easy to understand for all users.
- Ongoing training: Our team receives ongoing training on web accessibility best practices.
